Summer Reruns: The Great Turkey Coloring Contest
Another part of my old 1996 sketchbook was from November of that year but it wasn't a school project. At work, someone was getting into the Thanksgiving spirit by holding a coloring contest for a generic turkey. There was no limit to the number of entries and, being the creatively starved worker that I was, I went to town.
Above was the traditional line art turkey with my added blue water. Below, a slightly subtle change as a added a head for a mutant turkey.
I began to up the ante of the creativity and did a black silhouette coloring job below....
And then a really whacked out one, which won 6th place....
And then a reversed image (a great setting on that old copier)....
And then a role reversal as the turkey eats the man (tied for 6th place).....
And then my post modern period with me just taping a turkey luncheon meat package to the image. Hey, it tied for 4th place!
And finally, a crazy paint, collage, and tape "masterpiece", which managed to pull off a 2nd place.
Happy Days, indeed!!!
